One of my favorite things to do, aside from shopping online, is walking through hair-care aisles. I don’t get to do it as often as I’d like, but if I had the time, I could spend hours at Target, Sally’s or wherever going up and down the aisles looking at different products, reading their ingredients and smelling them. Why? Because I absolutely love finding new hair products to try.
A few months back, I stumbled upon the Camille Rose Naturals line of products and all I can say is that I’m obsessed. While they are a bit pricey, the conditioners are worth every penny and have become staples in my hair routine.
This is one of the best conditioners I’ve tried for my natural hair (and I’ve tried a few). No matter how long it’s been since I’ve deep conditioned or moisturized my hair, this product (and 30+ minutes under a hooded dryer) always brings my hair back to life. The consistency is relatively thick (I can hold the open container upside down with no problem) so a little goes a long way.
When I deep condition my hair, I almost always deep condition it twice. I usually use this one first (apply it, sit under a hooded dryer for 30+ minutes and rinse it out) and then immediately follow it with the Algae Deep Conditioner. It leaves my hair feeling soft, but not mushy. It also has a mild coconut scent that I like.
So, if you need a deep conditioner that has a little protein in it, this is a good option. However, if your hair is protein sensitive, you may need to skip this one (even though the protein is toward the end of the product ingredient list).
For those of you who are looking for a conditioner for your co-wash routine, you may want to try this one. I use it frequently during the week and usually apply it in sections while I’m in the shower. I let it sit while I take my shower and then rinse it out. Afterward, even before I apply the rest of my products, my hair feels really hydrated. It’s become my go-to conditioner when I do not have the time to deep condition.
Personally, I believe this brand’s products would work best for curly and coily hair because they may be a bit heavy for other hair types. If you want to try out some of the Camille Rose Naturals products, you can find them at Target and on their website.
