For those of us who live for all things fashion, fall is the most wonderful time of the year. Trying the latest trends, breaking out our old fall favorites, and, of course, giving our wardrobes a bit of a refresh are all reasons we anxiously anticipate the change in season. However, without great wardrobe staples, our closets would be incomplete. So, today, I’m sharing wardrobe essentials that should get you through fall and winter.
Outfit: Fleurette Coat | INC Shirt via Macy’s | Style & co. Jeans via Macy’s | 5/48 Pumps via Saks Off 5th | Liebeskind Bag | Balenciaga Sunglasses | Lucky Brand Ring
While a black coat is often a default option, a neutral coat can be a nice change. Like a black coat, it works with practically everything and can be dressed up or down. (See how I wore my neutral coat for an office look here.)
White Button Down Shirt
No matter the season, a classic button down shirt is a must. To keep things from being boring, try one with interesting details (flared sleeves, cinched waist, embroidery, etc.).
As it gets cooler, you will definitely need a pair of jeans. Whether you like them dark, light or something in between, a great pair of jeans will go a long way in your wardrobe.
A black turtleneck is a versatile piece that is practical and chic. It can be paired with anything from a pencil skirt to a distressed pair of jeans and still look fabulous. (See how I styled my black turtleneck here and here.)
A black blazer is essential in any wardrobe because it is one of the few pieces that works with almost everything. Paired with anything from a skirt to a pair of jeans, a black blazer makes any look a bit more polished. (See how I wore it here.)
So, did I miss anything? Are there other pieces you consider wardrobe staples?
