Transitioning into fall can be quite a challenge, especially when the weather is often unpredictable early on. To make things a bit easier for you this season, I’m sharing a few tips and some plus-size options that should make transitioning your wardrobe this fall a breeze.
Though it’s not quite cold enough for wool coats, as the temperatures drop, a lightweight coat will definitely be a necessity. You can stick with basic black or neutrals or punch it up a notch by opting for a pop of color.
If you are thinking of packing away those fun summer pieces, don’t just yet. Instead, try layering over them with a great leather jacket, cape or sleeveless blazer.
Maxi dresses are a great option for fall. They are usually light enough for those warmer autumn days and, when it does get cooler, you can simply add layering pieces to them.
Even though “sweater weather” will soon be upon us, lightweight blouses with sleeves are essential items to have in your wardrobe, especially when transitioning between seasons. They can be styled with anything – from jeans to skirts – and, of course, can work with your layering pieces. (See outfit ideas here and here.)
Whether you opt for faux or real, leather is (and will always be) a must in the fall. It can easily be incorporated into your wardrobe with leather pants (see here and here for outfit idea), a leather skirt (see here for outfit idea) or even a great pair of leather culottes.
