Designer Spotlight: Lala Belle

If you follow me on twitter you know that I have been extremely frustrated with the plus size industry.  It always seems like there is a new plus size designer coming out who is promising something different and yet we (the plus size customer) end up with the same old jersey knit, body con crap.  Don’t get me wrong, those fabrics can work for some plus size women, but I am tired of having just those fabrics to choose from.

Anyway, before I go off on a full on rant let me introduce you all to a plus size label who finally piqued my interest – Lala Belle.  I found this Australian label via Kellie B.‘s from And I Get Dressed earlier today and I have to say I am truly impressed and genuinely excited.  Finally, a plus size label who is willing to step outside of the plus size designer comfort zone and give us something that is comparable to what is available to straight size women.  Lala Belle’s exquisite fabrics and beautiful detailing are perfect for the woman who loves contemporary street style.  They carry sizes from 14 – 26+.  The pieces do have a higher price point than most of what you will see in plus size fashion, but for me that is a plus. (No pun intended.)

I’m so excited to finally see something that is worth investing in.  I don’t know about you, but I shall be saving my pennies so that I can splurge on a few of these pieces.

Thanks for reading.

You're very welcome. I really love what I see and I am truly excited to see more.

It's quite interesting that you use stretch leather. I've never heard of that. It's a great idea.
